Tips to revive your energy and vitality
Now your baby is here, you may lack the vitality and energy you once enjoyed, here are some tips to help
Getting back into shape after your baby may feel like something you feel you want to do but are lacking the motivation and vitality to really get going. Here are some tips to get your vitality back.
Lose the guilt
New mums often suffer with mummy guilt and feel they need to be getting on with something that needs to be done whenever they have a moment. Stop. If you find you have a few minutes whether baby’s asleep or happily playing somewhere safe, take that time and do something for you. Whether it’s a quick 7-minute workout, a power nap or even whip up a healthy lunch. Whatever ‘needs’ to be done, will get done, it always does!
Think wholefoods
Fill your fridge with wholefoods such as vegetables, fruit and wholegrains. Eating a lot of wholefoods will give your body the nutrients it needs as well as making you feel more full and help your body recover from birth.
Have a hearty breakfast
Make time and effort to get your day off to a good start with a healthy, wholesome breakfast so you give your body the energy it needs so you get on with your day with the maximum energy. It might be hard to think beyond cornflakes but make an effort to think oats, eggs, whip up a smoothie or a dollop of Greek yoghurt with a banana and a little honey.
Take supplements
It’s not always possible to get all the nutrients you need from the foods you eat so taking a multi vitamin will help you get the full amount your body needs to function at its best.
Make the effort to walk whenever you can
Whether it’s picking up a few bits from the shops, getting the baby to sleep or meeting friends, whenever possible push yourself to walk rather than jump in the car. Walking is a great way to re-energise yourself and is of course a great form of exercise.
