Here’s our suggested menu plan for your 7-9 month old
It's not easy knowing what to prepare for family meals at the best of times, but can be even harder when you're baby is weaning.
So we've done the hard work for you and planned out some great meals for a 7-9 month old.
Day 1
Breakfast
Baby porridge with mashed pear and milk
Finger foods: slices soft ripe pear or toast fingers
Midday meal
Mashed salmon with potato and broccoli – mashed with soft lumps
Finger foods: potato pieces, cooked broccoli florets
Second course: Yogurt with fruit finger foods
Evening meal
Pasta with pesto sauce
Finger food: cooked pieces of pasta
Mashed strawberries with a few strawberries as finger food
Day 2
Breakfast
Baby cereal with mashed banana and milk
Finger foods: slices soft banana
Midday meal
Chicken with rice, leeks and carrots– mashed with soft lumps
Finger foods: cooked carrot pieces
Second course: Custard and stewed apple
Evening meal
Mashed pasta with lentil and tomato sauce
Finger food: cooked pasta pieces
Mashed kiwi fruit with pieces of kiwi as finger foods
Day 3
Breakfast
Scrambled egg with toast
Finger food: toast fingers and fruit fingers
Midday meal
Pureed lamb with mashed potato and courgettes
Finger foods: cooked potato and courgette sticks
Second course Yogurt with fruit pieces
Evening meal
Pasta with tomato sauce and grated cheese
Finger foods: cooked pasta pieces and cheese cubes
Mashed peaches with soft ripe peach fingers as finger food
