Jenna Dewan shares her tips for “surviving” mastitis

American star, and new mum, Jenna Dewan, has shared a candid post to her 9.5 million followers about her struggles with mastitis and what helped her get through it.
Jenna welcomed her third child, Rhiannon, in June and has taken to her Instagram this week to share her struggles with mastitis and the tips fans have shared that worked for her.
The actress shared just real images of herself using some of the hacks that helped her “survive mastitis.
The images included her with thinly sliced potatoes on her nipples, as well as cold compresses and some bath salts she also swore by.
She told her 9.5 million followers: “Now that I’ve survived mastitis I can confidently say… mamas I FEEL you. The amount of times I googled “will I ever feel better.”
She continued: “All of your suggestions were amazing, thank you! What an experience to show how powerful and supportive we can all be for each other.”
Jenna then took the time to list all the tips that worked for her.
She said: “This is what worked for me:

Cold compresses, cabbage and thinly sliced potatoes after feeds (treats inflammation)
- Hot epsom salt baths to help with the shaking (that part was honestly wild)
- Castor oil on breasts with warm compress over
- Probiotic 2x a day
- Vitamin C & E 3x a day
- Homeopathic remedy hepar sulfur and phytolaca rotating throughout the day
- MEDICINE! Ibuprofen and antibiotics
- Nursing/ pumping
- REST (I know I know who can rest but even little naps helped).”
Fans were quick to praise the actress for her honest post and “normalising” the struggles some experience with breastfeeding.
