Coronation Street favourite Sair Khan has shared the news she is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Nathan Chilton in the spring.
The actress, famed for playing Alya Nazir on the ITV soap, took to her Instagram to share the exciting news with her 278k followers.
The mum-to-be posted a black and white image of herself sporting a growing bump with boyfriend Nathan as the pair looked at each other smiling.
Nathan is clearly over the moon with the news as in the second snap he is grinning in a selfie with a thumbs up with Sair in the background also smiling and giving the camera a thumbs up.
Sair wrote on the post: “It’s been a little while since posting on here which has been a real mix of emotions. With all that is happening in the world it didn’t feel like the right time to share but we also know it’s okay to keep hope and pray for peace whilst acknowledging that we feel blessed and grateful.”
The couple have had a difficult year with Nathan undergoing chondroblastoma surgery on his pelvis which involved a long recovery.
She touched on it in her post: “Last year was a challenging time for us both with Nathan’s chondroblastoma surgery on his pelvis. It’s been a long road to recovery and still has many obstacles ahead as we deal with the spread of the tumour to his lungs.”
She continued: “Life can be difficult and there’ll always be challenges to face but there are also important lessons to be learnt and gifts to be cherished.
“We’re so excited for the arrival of Baby Chilton in Spring 2024.”
Sair’s Corrie cast mates rushed to the post to share their congratulations.

Bethany Platt star Lucy Fallon shared: “So so so happy for you both gorgeous Sair. can’t wait for baby besties to unite xxxxxxx”
