The suspense is finally over — Mummy Pig is officially expecting a baby girl, and Peppa Pig fans everywhere are squealing with excitement.
Back in February, the world gasped (and maybe giggled) when it was announced that Peppa would be getting a new sibling. Who knew Daddy Pig still had it in him? Now, the whole Pig family is gearing up for their biggest adventure yet — and the biggest shake-up in Peppa Pig’s 20-year history.
Naturally, Mummy Pig wasn't about to settle for a quiet announcement. She went full celebrity mode with a series of maternity photos channeling Beyoncé and Katy Perry vibes — bump out, sass up. So you just knew the gender reveal was going to be nothing short of iconic.
The Peppa Pig store at London’s Battersea Power Station hosted a baby bonanza on Friday, complete with cupcakes, character cameos, and baby-themed fun galore. (Because nothing says "newborn" quite like a life-sized talking pig handing out sweets.) The event also raised funds for the National Children’s Trust (NCT), now Peppa Pig’s official charity partner — because even cartoon babies deserve a good start in life.
And now, the news you’ve been desperately waiting for: it’s a girl! (Daddy Pig is already bracing himself for double the glitter, double the tea parties, and probably double the muddy puddle drama.)
To top it all off, the chimneys at Battersea Power Station will glow pink at 8 PM, after an evening of dramatic pink-and-blue light teasing. Because if you’re going to reveal a piglet’s gender, why not do it with a full-on industrial-sized light show?
