Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome’s growing family.
Rupert Grint has announced the arrival of his second child, playfully referring to the newborn as a "secret" after news of the birth began circulating.
The British actor, best known for his role as the loyal and accident-prone Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, welcomed his first child, a daughter named Wednesday, with longtime partner Georgia Groome in 2020.
On Sunday, following growing speculation, Grint took to Instagram to confirm the happy news. “‘Secret Child Slightly Revealed.’ Introducing Goldie G. Grint. A 10/10 baby (so far),” he wrote. He also extended thanks to obstetrician Alex Digesu “for always delivering.”
The announcement was accompanied by an adorable photo of baby Goldie, dressed in a white top featuring her name, a grey cardigan, and lying atop a leopard-print fleece.
Grint and Groome, known for her role in the 2008 comedy Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, have been together since 2011.
Grint was the first among the original Harry Potter trio to become a parent, preceding Daniel Radcliffe—who welcomed his first child in 2023—and Emma Watson. Grint rose to international fame in 2001 with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, starring alongside Radcliffe and Watson.
